Our Story

A love letter to the French countryside

The Estate

A French-inspired country haven for unforgettable garden ceremonies.

Where rolling hills meet manicured European-style gardens, and romance feels as though it has always lived here. Nestled on 40 private acres in Mount Burnett, Victoria, Terre Rouge Estate offers an opulent yet grounded setting for couples seeking intimacy, elegance, and a celebration woven into nature.

Here, serene countryside meets the border of a mountain ash forest — a breathtaking pocket of the Dandenong Ranges where towering century-old trees stand like silent witnesses to time, love, and legacy.

Step beyond the wrought-iron gates and enter a world of florals, stone pathways, century-old trees and sweeping views — a place where time slows, golden light spills across the hills, and every moment feels cinematic.

This is where your love story is honoured with beauty, simplicity, and European grandeur.

The Architecture

Pale render, terracotta, sage and stone

The manor is unapologetically European — handcut terracotta roof tiles, soft cream-rendered facades, sage shutters, wrought-iron lanterns and arched openings that frame the gardens beyond.

It is a building designed not to dominate the landscape, but to belong to it — and to give every photograph, every moment, the unmistakable weight of place.

The Terrace & Colonnade

Hanging lanterns, checkerboard stone, citrus trees in Anduze

Beyond the manor, a long arched colonnade opens onto a private terrace — black-and-white marble underfoot, wrought-iron lanterns hung the length of the ceiling, and weathered Anduze pots cradling Mediterranean citrus along the railing.

By day, the terrace overlooks the Dandenong Ranges through a soft veil of mist. By evening, the lanterns warm and the columns throw long shadows across the marble — a setting that becomes its own quiet ceremony.

Cypress trees and cottage gardens

The Gardens

Cypress, lavender, echinacea, salvia

Sculpted hedges, stone pathways and Italian cypress define the gardens, while cottage-style borders shift in colour and texture through the seasons — from the silver-and-gold of summer yarrow to the deep purples of autumn salvia.

Every bed is tended with intention, drawn from the timeless rhythms of provincial France and the wild romance of the Australian high country.
